Thanks to all who have taken the time to make
suggestions regarding public education in Texas!
With your help, we constructed House Bill 5, which passed unanimously in both the Texas House and the Texas Senate and was signed into law by Governor Rick Perry earlier this year. HB 5 fundamentally changes the graduation requirements for high school seniors, reduces the number of standardized tests from 15 to 5, and establishes “endorsements,” or graduation pathways for both college-bound and vocation-bound students.
This is a great improvement for the students of Texas and is widely supported by administrators, teachers and parents.
Again, many thanks for your input.
